Class Action Attorney Fee Digest

We categorize each decision on class action attorney’s fees into one of nine categories. Approximately 37% of the cases involve securities, 33% involve consumer issues, and 23% involve employment issues. In August 2010, we combined our Environment and Mass Tort categories.

We combine information on named plaintiff awards with awards given to lead plaintiffs under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 (“PSLRA”). Currently, we have information on 702 non-securities cases and 169 securities cases. These figures include cases where a requested award was denied.
